Super Mario XP
Super Mario XP is a fan made remake of the classic Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was released as freeware in the early 2000s and is one of the better fan made remakes available for the PC. The graphics are close to the original as are the game play mechanics and controls. Although this PC version uses a keyboard for the controls rather than a game pad. Directional arrow keys are used for movement and shift, control or “z” keys are used for jumping, fire and other combination moves.
What makes Super Mario XP different from the original is the game play elements that have been borrowed from other classic platform games from the 1980s such as Castlevania as the game is set in that game world.
